How the business began
We were established in October 1988 in Buckinghamshire. Many of our clients have remained with us since then. Now based near the east coast between Lowestoft and Southwold we have clients from most regions of England (and some overseas). Over the years we have tended to specialise in dealing with the accountancy and taxation affairs for many types of small business. Although the majority of businesses we act for are sole traders we also act for partnerships (including LLPs) and small Limited Companies.
What we can offer you
Since the introduction of self-assessment and internet filing of tax returns we are also finding that more and more people require our assistance in completion of annual self-assessment returns. This is particularly true of individuals who receive rental income, dividend income, pension income or interest income. It no longer applied that only business people require accountants and tax advisers.
We offer a flexible approach to our clients with contact being fact to face, by telephone, text, fax, letter, e-mail or internet, whichever is the most convenient and appropriate for your circumstances. We are available outside of normal working ours to add the flexibility. We deal with H M Revenue and Customs and Companies House electronically where appropriate through the Government Gateway, for added security.
Simple Solutions
People come to us with a variety of problems and we aim to help however we can. However, the best solutions are often the most simple. Whatever your bookkeeping, accounting or taxation problems are we will always look for the simple most cost effective solution.
We take a very flexible approach to how you deliver your information to us, we find that most people use methods that suit them, so whilst we may make suggestions on record keeping improvements we will not be prescriptive. We also try to ensure that any changes will improve your knowledge of what is happening in your business there will also be discernable savings either in time or making sure that you are claiming all that you can. We specialise in the following areas:
| • Self-Assessment Taxation | • Value Added Tax | • Efficient record keeping | • Bookkeeping |
| • Corporation Tax | • Rental Income | • Small Limited Companies | • PAYE / Payroll |
The most common problem we see is that people find their accountant difficult to approach. Whilst we use modern technology for day to day operations, we find that there is no substitute for face to face conversation, to resolve problems or answer questions.
Frequently asked questions
When can I contact you with a question?
We are available Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:30pm and can be contacted during those hours. However, we can also be contacted by e-mail, text or through this site 24/7, 365 days a year. We endeavour to respond to your question within one hour.
When can I see you?
We are available during our normal working hours, however, we will visit you during the evening or at weekends. We understand that you may not have time during the normal working day, so we will arrange to come and see you at a time that is less disruptive to your lifestyle and working patterns.
What is it going to cost me?
This very much depends on the work you want us to do and many other factors. Nearly all Accountants will charge you an hourly rate, which is made up of an element for the person you are seeing, the firms overheads and a profit for the partners. We do not aim to be the cheapest by any means but we control our overheads enthusiastically. We do not have a flash office and make sure that every penny we spend gives a benefit to our clients. In most cases you will be dealing with a senior person in the business. Any work done by others will be done by experienced people and not by a trainee.
